~Review~

I give this book a rating of 8.7 out of 10. Elementals brought a lot of new things to the table and set my bar for books that include magic higher. It not only showed the use of elements magic really well but intertwined with all that was this whole premise of Greek mythology. Michelle Madow really knew how to make the two work together in order to entice the readers.

The story enticed from the start, what's not to love about witches, elements magic, and a comet that will change the course of events for five adventurous teens. I believe the story had a medium pace to it, it wasn't so slow and it wasn't too fast. Also all the information required to understand the story was given at a nice pace. Never once did I feel lost or confused as to what was going on. I think Michelle did a really nice job of explaining everything that needed to be explained, but still left a lot of curious questions to me as a reader. One highlight of this book would have to be the witches magic, they cannot effect actually objects, just the emotional state of people and themselves...how awesome is that?  I also loved all the adventure and suspense this book had to offer.

I know that I should probably start of this paragraph by mentioning how heroic and strong the female lead was, however I just can't mention Nicole first. I need to mention the most swooniest character I have ever laid my eyes on. Blake, Blake the boy who I don't even remember the last name for because all I remember is how hard I fangirled when he was first mentioned in this book. Not only was the way he was described absolutely prefect, but the way he came off so mysterious was even better. Now unfortunately, this amazingly yummy character has an over protective girlfriend who WILL, send anyone to the hospital who even dares to look at Blake. Though, does this really stop Nicole from looking, even talking to mysterious Blake? I won't say, you'll just have to read to find out.
My next character who I will mention now is Nicole, she makes a sudden move to a new town, which she finds gloomier than ever. Within the first few hours of school she is told that she is a witch and from here on out will be learning to use her powers. Now, Nicole handles it like anyone else would, she is totally freaked out at first. However as the story progresses, I as a reader loved seeing the way she developed into her magical self. With that being said though, I also really like that there is still room for her to grow and improve, therefore I am super excited for book 2 to be released.

In conclusion, Michelle Madow's Elementals: The Prophecy of Shadows should be on everyone's TBR list if they not only enjoyed The Percy Jackson series, but also for those who enjoy the good use of story telling that revolves around magic and myths. I highly recommend this book, and hopefully for those who have read it will enjoy the book just as much as I did.
